Research has found in significant numbers that pet owners lead a less stressful life than non pet owners. They are also generally found to be more intelligent, beautiful and materially successful than non pet owners which only goes to re-inforce the notion that we need to look after our pets in times of need. Where we might be fortunate enough to pop along to the doctors when we have the first sign of a cold or we think that unsightly mole on our leg is a cancerous growth, no such luxury exists for cats and dogs - they have to pay for any care themselves, sometimes leaving cats and dogs finacially struggling and unable to provide for their families (unless they've been neutered). So while we wait for animal rights to catch up with over privelidged humans, it comes as some blessing that Scott veterinary clinic and Lydon veterinary centre have proposed a vaccination for life plan to help make it affordable for pets to protect themselves against life threatening diseases for the rest of their lives. A small price to pay for the reassurance it gives us that our pets can continue to roll about on the lawn and chew up our slippers for years to come...
