Kilmersdon Village Day - Summer Fete - A5 leaflet design and print
Kilmersdon is a beautiful little Somerset village , with mention in the Domesday book going back some 1000 years. It's said to be the 'home' of the Jack and Jill nursery rhyme, where Jack tumbled down the hill breaking his head open, shortly followed by his sister Jill. Legend has it she wasn't as badly injured as her brother and had the foresight to bring along some vinegar and brown paper (it's not clear why the paper was brown but scholars have put forward the theory that it might have attracted some dirt whilst the clumsy children were roly-polying down the slope) to patch up poor Jacks split skull - ouch! With so much local history, the parishioners of Kilmersdon like to celebrate their village every year with it's own special day featuring cake stalls, tombola, a dog show and not forgetting the Jack and Jill dash. Flyer Designers have enjoyed designing the annual summer fete leaflets for a couple of years now and look forward to doing so for the next 1000 years - although by then of course flyers will be beamed direct into the frontal lobe via laser beams rather than printed out onto paper.
